Augustinian Recollect
Youth

San Ezequiel Moreno Formation House

The San Ezequiel Moreno Formation House is the place where young people who are interested in religious and priestly life within our Order of Augustinian Recollects begin to take their first steps.

The first stage of initial formation is the postulancy. This is the stage in which they discern their vocational concerns while they begin to study philosophy at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Argentina. In addition, accompanied by the postulancy teacher, they receive specific training (topics and workshops), while in community they live different moments of prayer, spirituality and fraternal sharing.

Prior to entering the postulancy, young people are accompanied by vocational promoters who, over the course of a year or more, work on different themes related to discernment and vocation. During this period, they participate in three experiential retreats at the House of Formation.

Augustinian Recollect Youth (JAR)

The JAR is the youth movement of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, which are the Augustinian Recollect Youth.

The JAR movement is an international Catholic youth organization, framed within the structure of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, and present in many of the countries where the Order carries out its ministerial work (parishes, schools and missions).

JAR Notes

Praying

JAR members develop a process of continuous conversion, through which, leaving dispersion and exteriority, they enter within themselves to meet in prayer with God who is waiting for them.

Community

The JARs try to revive the experience of the early Christian community of Jerusalem, in the experiential study of the Word, fidelity in the breaking of the Bread, solidarity with the needy and the intimate communion of its members in true friendship and fraternity, according to the charismatic experience of St. Augustine and the Recollection in total harmony and collaboration with the pastors of the Church.

Missionary

This dimension of the JAR implies total availability to serve the Church, actively collaborating in the missions and other ministries of the entire Augustinian Recollect family.

Mariana

The JARs are born under the protection of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Consolation, and young people entrust their activities and their lives to her.

Augustinian

Following the examples of the saints and religious models of the entire Augustinian Recollect family, they enrich it with their youth and dynamism and remain in harmony with all of its members.

Vocational concern

To assist in vocational discernment, the Order works through Vocations Ministry, a team made up of religious and lay people.

To accompany young people with a vocational concern, the Augustinian Recollect Vocational Itinerary (IVAR) is available, which is a PATH to live the path of faith with an orderly and successive sequence of stages to understand Christian life as a response to God's call, to his project of life, faith and happiness that God has for each one.

This Itinerary assumes three axes of vocational culture proposed in the II Latin American Congress of Vocations (Cartago, Costa Rica, 2011):

  1. Vocational theology. Each stage is illuminated by the journey of faith and mission of the prophet Elijah (I Re 19,15-21).

  2. Vocational spirituality. With characteristic notes of Augustinian Recollect spirituality: desire, love, friendship, truth...

  3. Vocational pedagogy. With specific pedagogical proposals based at each stage on three pillars: Attitudes to motivate, Means to employ and Actions to develop (AMA).

During the time of accompaniment for vocational discernment, three retreats are held: plowing, sowing and cultivating. Each of them is developed with vocational pedagogy and spirituality.
